Celebrating Eagle Lake Fire Department Highlights from 2023

The City of Eagle Lake would like to recognize Fire Chief Vern Simpson and his department for their ongoing outstanding proactive fire protection work, emergency preparedness planning, community outreach, and many more efforts to keep our community safe! There are a number of noteworthy highlights from 2023 that we’d like to share with the community.

Eagle Lake Fire Department Highlights from 2023

  • Nona Niemeier was recognized for making 129 out of 285 calls in 2023.
  • Chris Willette obtained both his Firefighter I & II certifications in 1 year while also becoming certified as an EMT.
  • Steve Sandey had perfect meeting and drill attendance.
  • Tim Stenzel and Brady Schloesser had perfect meeting attendance.
  • Terry Olson was recognized as the most senior member of the Fire Department with 26 1/2 years of service, followed closely behind by Chad Witte who has 26 1/4 years of service.
  • Galen Mastin retired after 19 years of dedicated service.
