Public Safety Announcement – Lock Your Vehicles

Lieutenant Mitch Gahler with the Blue Earth County Sheriff’s Office would like to take a moment to remind residents about the importance of locking your vehicles. In recent days, there has been an increase in vehicle tampering in Eagle Lake. A simple yet effective way to protect your vehicle is by locking it. Always remember to lock your car doors. Do not keep a spare set of keys, important paperwork, or valuables inside your vehicle. Please encourage your friends, family, and neighbors to lock their cars. If you notice any suspicious activity, contact law enforcement immediately by calling 911. It is never a bother to contact law enforcement – they appreciate hearing from residents so that they can be proactive when possible in deterring and solving crime and keeping the community safe. Together we can build a strong network of watchful eyes to deter criminals and keep the Eagle Lake community safe.
