Snowfall Expected This Weekend
While no snow emergency has been declared yet, Public Works asks residents to park off the street starting Saturday evening when possible. Please avoid parking directly across from other vehicles so plows can safely clear roads.
If you’re able, please park off the street during the snowfall to help plow operators clear streets more efficiently. If off-street parking isn’t available, please try to avoid parking directly across from vehicles on the opposite side of the street, as this can make roads too narrow for plows to safely pass through.
Heavy snow can create serious challenges, including power outages, blocked roads, and disrupted communications from downed lines. Residents are encouraged to stay prepared by having food and necessary medications on hand for a few days, ensuring a safe alternative heat source, and limiting travel whenever possible. Being ready is the best way to stay safe during the storm.
Protect Your Home: After snowfall, check and clear exterior vents for furnaces, water heaters, and dryers. Snow buildup can block vents, causing carbon monoxide (CO) to back up into your home. Clear a 2–3 foot radius around all vents to keep them functioning safely.
Fire Hydrants – Keep Them Clear: If there’s a fire hydrant near your home, you can help emergency responders by keeping it clear of snow and ice, with at least three feet of space all around. This simple action can make a big difference in keeping your neighborhood safe.
