Back-to-School Safety and Welcome to Eagle Lake Elementary’s New Principal

Lieutenant Mitch Gahler with the Blue Earth County Sheriff’s Office would like to remind all residents that school is back in session. Please be alert for students walking, biking, or waiting at bus stops. When a school bus has its stop arm extended and red lights flashing, all traffic in both directions must stop. This law is critical for the safety of children getting on and off the bus. Drivers should also slow down in school zones and residential areas, remain attentive, and allow extra travel time during busy school hours.

The City of Eagle Lake would like to welcome Steve Johanson as the new principal of Eagle Lake Elementary School! The City values and appreciates the partnerships between local government, the School, and Law Enforcement, led by Lieutenant Gahler with the Sheriff’s Office. Working together is essential for creating a healthy, safe, and supportive community for students and families. We wish everyone a safe, successful, and rewarding school year.
