Ensure Safe and Clean Drinking Water for Eagle Lake Residents

While the City of Eagle Lake’s drinking water complies with the Safe Drinking Water Act standards, recent testing indicates that the City’s water has high levels of manganese that exceeds the health advisory limit for infants.

We cannot treat manganese with our current system. A new water treatment facility is needed.  Eagle Lake is looking at an overall total project cost of $14,153,000 for the construction of a new water treatment facility to provide clean drinking water to residents and address water quality issues, including high levels of manganese.

A request for state bond funding has been submitted in the amount of $7,077,000 (50% of the total cost) for the construction of a new water treatment facility.

Please sign this petition if you support the City of Eagle Lake’s state bond funding request for the construction of a new water treatment facility to provide clean drinking water to residents and address water quality issues, including high levels of manganese.  We plan to share this petition with legislators in an effort to help illustrate a health and safety need in our community for which state bond funding is being sought to address.
