| Disposable wipes are wreaking havoc on the City’s lift station pumps. Within the last week, two pumps have been clogged with wipes that have necessitated emergency repair on two separate occasions. This costs the City and utility customers time and money. |
Don’t Flush Your Disposable Wipes!Disposable wipes have been causing problems in communities around the country and the City of Eagle Lake is no different. Wipes – used for changing diapers, personal hygiene, housecleaning, and more – cause major problems when flushed down toilets. Though many of these products are labeled “flushable”, they are anything but. The same goes for facial tissues, baby wipes, paper towels, and other products. If residents use wipes, put them in the trash. Don’t flush them! Thank you for your help! |
