Fares

Once application and certification process is complete, Kato Flex transportation fare options are as follows:

  • The base fare for this service is $2 (one-way)
  • $50 monthly pass

    Monthly passes may be purchased directly from the bus driver, or at the customer service desk in the Intergovernmental Center, 10 Civic Center Plaza (anybody using a voucher must purchase tickets here).

    Kato Flex service is not available during major holidays:

    • New Year's Day
    • Easter Day
    • Memorial Day
    • Independence Day
    • Labor Day
    • Thanksgiving Day
    • Christmas Day

    Schedule a Ride

    To reserve a ride, call (507) 625-RIDE (7433). Office hours are 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday, and 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturdays, and Sunday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Reservation will be handled through an answering system on Sundays and holidays for next day service. All calls must be received before the end of the day office hours. Reservations should be made at least one day prior to when the ride is requested and can be made up to 8 days in advance. Same-day reservations will be accommodated as space allows.

    When scheduling your ride, Mankato Transit System will do their best to meet your requested timeframe, however since Kato Flex is a share-ride service involving multiple passengers at one time, Mankato Transit System might not be able to schedule your ride at the requested timeframe. Mankato Transit System is allowed to negotiate with you an alternate time within an hour before or after the requested time to accommodate reservations already made by other passengers. Please provide the following information when requesting a ride:

    • Name of eligible rider
    • If accompanied, name of Personal Care Attendant, or companion/guest
    • Pick Up and Destination addresses
    • Time you wish to arrive at destination
    • Return Time
    • Telephone
